The Orangeblowfish is seeking a Commercial & Contracts Manager to lead the commercial governance, contract management, risk management and commercial compliance across the business. The role acts is the key point for all commercial matters and partners with legal, creative project teams and agency leadership to protect company interests, improve commercial processes and support sustainable growth

Responsibilities:

– Commercial Governance: Own commercial governance frameworks, review commercial documentation, and ensure compliance with company policies.

– Contract Management & Negotiation: Review, draft and negotiate client, vendor and consultant agreements. Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Identify contractual issues and bottlenecks and escalate as required.

– Proposal & Pricing Governance: Review fee proposals, scopes of work and pricing structures to ensure commercial viability and margin protection.

– Commercial Operations: Leads the overall commercial process including client and vendor contract pricing, execution, variation management, invoicing requirements and commercial reporting.

– Risk Management & Compliance: Maintain contract review standards, manage contractual risks and support compliance initiatives.

– Process Improvement: Develop and/or improve checklists, commercial templates, workflows and approval processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risk. This includes identifying recurring contractual issues and recommend improvements to internal processes and maintaining a database of key contractual deviations, customer positions, and lessons learned.

– Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Advise internal project teams and leadership on commercial matters and provide contract guidance.

The Successful Candidate:

– Around 5+ years of experience in commercial management, contract management, legal operations, procurement, or a related field.

– A legal background is highly preferred.

– Strong contract negotiation and risk assessment capabilities.

– High attention to detail, with strong organizational and time-management skills.

– Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.

– A good understanding of contract terms, with the ability to identify potential risks.

– Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel.

– Able to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

– Reliable and proactive, able to manage multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines under pressure.

– Take briefs as part of a wider creative team and help generate ideas to present back to the our senior creatives

– Have a good knowledge and the ability to execute a range of different design styles and layouts

– Coordinate with project leads to determine their requirements, timescale and budget

– Develop concepts, graphics and layouts, including making decisions that are on brief

– Keep senior creatives up to date on progress

– Listen and act on feedback, and explain the rationale behind graphic design decisions

– Review final layouts and suggest improvements if required.

– Liaise with external production partners to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed or presented to the highest quality.

– Coordinate and prepare final artwork with printers and suppliers as required

– Image research and documentation as required

The Successful Candidate:

– Must be bilingual – fluent in Chinese and English. Native Chinese is preferred.

– Has 2-4 years’ agency or design experience

– Excels in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

– Has a strong eye for typography, layout and detail

– Can balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

– Is proactive, self-motivated and collaborative

– Understands branding across print, digital and experiential touchpoints

– Assisting the project team with research, daily communications with stakeholders and keeping a tab of client deliverables.

– Updating project timelines, client reports, meeting agendas and meeting minutes.

– Being the daily point of contact for communication with vendors for assigned projects. This includes following up on quotations, deliverables and delivery schedules.

– Search, onboard and manage new vendor and production partners

– Recognising risks and applying creative problem skills to help mitigate risks. Escalating to project lead as required.

– Assisting in other tasks as required.

The ideal candidate will be required to have:

– Have strong communication and logical reasoning skills.

– Language requirements: Fluent in Chinese and English – written and spoken.
