The Orangeblowfish takes home 4th industry award for
Budweiser Drop 158 Campaign!
The Orangeblowfish is proud to be recognized as a Silver Winner at the 2022 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
Stevies (for short), is the Greek word for “crowned,” and is the only business awards program to recognize innovation in the workplace in all 29 nations of the Asia-Pacific region. The Stevie Awards are widely considered to be the world’s premier business awards, conferring recognition for achievement in programs such as The International Business Awards® for 20 years.
“This is our first time entering the Stevie Award, and we are thrilled to win Silver in the Branded Entertainment category – our fourth industry award – for our client Budweiser. More than 900 nominations from organizations across the Asia-Pacific region were considered this year. We’re ecstatic to say the least!”
Natalie Lowe, Managing Partner of The Orangeblowfish.
“Drop the Beat” was built on a futuristic city in which bars and nightclubs could introduce their brand on buildings and signage. At the center of the game was the Budweiser brand: it’s title, “Drop the Beat”, with a play on the word “Drop”. Building on Budweiser’s long-time association with Electronic Dance Music, where a ‘drop’ is a change in rhythm, the game had a unique feature: it was sound reactive.
To truly bring out the Budweiser video game experience, TOBF utilized the venue – Found 158’s existing technology such as large screens and sound systems. Players who participated in the game had their races displayed on the large screens so other party-goers in the bar would be encouraged to participate. A score board behind the DJ was displayed at the end of each game, and if the player had achieved the highest score, they would be awarded the title ‘King of Beers’. While enjoying the game, players could also purchase Budweiser’s new drinking ritual “Drop the Bud”; co-created by TOBF and Proof & Company’s Chris Lowder, one of the world’s most influential bar tenders. The new drinking ritual “Drop the Bud” included a hint of orange liquor that provided tannin and citrus notes that enhanced the flavor of Budweiser.
“In 2021, we received 3 industry awards for the Budweiser project and this is another great recognition of our team’s pursuit for creative excellence,”
Siu Tang, Executive Creative Director of The Orangeblowfish.
The virtual award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 29 June 2022. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists and we look forward to celebrating with you in person soon!
